Breast Lift in Bellevue
A breast lift restores position and shape after pregnancy, weight change, or time. The operation repositions the breast and the nipple, tailors the skin envelope, and can rebuild upper-pole fullness with or without an implant.
Dr. Day performs the full range of mastopexy techniques and matches the incision pattern to how much lift your tissue actually needs, never more.
Every consultation and every operation is with Dr. Day himself.

Meet Dr. DayThe operation
Every consultation — and every operation — is with Dr. Day.
The incision pattern scales with the lift required: a crescent or donut pattern for subtle repositioning, a lollipop pattern for moderate lifts, and an anchor pattern where the most reshaping and control is needed.
For select patients Dr. Day adds internal support — an internal bra of resorbable mesh or biologic matrix that carries the new shape from the inside while it heals.
Patients who want more upper-pole fullness can combine the lift with an implant in one operation, and select patients qualify for auto-augmentation: repositioning your own tissue to rebuild volume with no implant at all. That technique — a Rubin-type mastopexy — suits a specific anatomy: significant volume loss after weight change, pregnancy, or breastfeeding, together with substantial sagging and enough remaining tissue to move. It is a niche operation offered where it fits rather than a default alternative to implants.
What a lift can and cannot do is worth stating plainly. It restores position and shape; it does not add volume. If your breasts sit lower than you want but you are happy with their fullness, a lift alone is the operation. If the fullness is gone as well, the honest answer is a lift with an implant, or auto-augmentation where the anatomy allows — and hearing that clearly at consultation prevents the most common disappointment in this procedure.
Four incision patterns
The pattern follows the tissue. Dr. Day recommends the least incision that honestly achieves the lift you need.
Crescent
A small arc at the top of the areola for the subtlest repositioning.
Donut (periareolar)
A circle around the areola for mild lifts, with minimal added scarring.
Lollipop (vertical)
Around the areola and down to the fold, for moderate lifts with real reshaping.
Anchor
Adds an incision along the fold, giving the most control for significant lifts.
Is it right for you
The lift corrects position; an implant restores volume. If your concern is sag, a lift alone may be the answer; if you have also lost fullness, a combined augmentation-mastopexy addresses both in one recovery, starting from $9,000.
If future pregnancy is likely, timing is worth a conversation: the result lasts longest when your weight and hormones are stable. Dr. Day maps the honest options, including staging the lift and implant separately when tissue quality calls for it.
Recovery
Home the same day, walking the day after, desk work during the first week. A surgical bra supports the result while swelling settles over three to four weeks.
Light exercise builds from week two; full activity returns at four to six weeks. The shape refines toward its final form around three months, and scars fade over twelve to eighteen months.
How the weeks before and after surgery fit together is covered in the practice's recovery guide.

Questions, answered
The rest belong in a conversation. Consultations are unhurried by design.
Do I need a lift or an augmentation?
The lift is what corrects position; the implant is what restores volume. Sag alone calls for a lift; deflation alone calls for an implant; both together call for a combined plan. The exam settles which describes your anatomy.
Can the lift and implant happen in one surgery?
Usually, yes — augmentation-mastopexy is a single operation and a single recovery. Where an implant is large or tissue quality is a concern, staging the two is the safer plan, and Dr. Day will say so plainly.
What is auto-augmentation?
A technique that repositions your own lower-pole tissue upward to rebuild fullness without an implant. It suits a specific subset of patients, most often after significant weight loss, and the exam determines candidacy.
What is the internal bra?
Internal support — a resorbable mesh or biologic matrix placed at surgery — that holds the lifted shape from the inside while your tissue heals around it.
How visible are the scars?
The pattern is chosen to be the least that achieves your lift, placed along the areola border and natural lines. Scars mature and fade over twelve to eighteen months, with scar care guided through follow-ups.
How long does a lift last?
Years, when weight stays stable. Gravity and time keep working, but the reshaped foundation ages from a better starting point — and future pregnancy or major weight change can alter the result.
Should I wait until I'm done having children?
If more children are likely, most patients wait. Pregnancy changes the tissue a lift has reshaped. It is a timing conversation, and there is no pressure toward either answer.
